Even marshmallows can be done creatively! This is how Harriot Pleydell-Bouverie describes her marshmallows:
«We don’t make normal marshmallows. We make creamy bundles of gooey deliciousness.”
Certainly sounds delicious to us! And it gets even better when you read about how Mallow and Marsh was first created:
«Mallow & Marsh was launched off £250 and no sleep. It was during gardening leave, between roles, that I launched headlong into my first business and founded a fine jewellery website, making independent designers more accessible. As a business, this became the learning ground for almost every mistake in the book, and is what I now refer to as my ‘MBA for Entrepreneurs’. It was during this time that I was bet (when a little bit drunk) to make marshmallows for the first time… Oh dear. As the jewellery world flailed, marshmallows blossomed, and my attention was drawn to the gooier of the two enterprises. My jewellery company is now closed, having taught me what not to do in business and Mallow & Marsh is thriving off the resulting experience.”
Launched back in November of 2013, Mallow and Marsh has turned the humble marshmallow from a cheap sweet snack into a luxurious, elite treat – handmade from natural products and even delivered right to your door. Yet, still affordable to buy! Sounds like the perfect combination!
Currently retailed through the Mallow and Marsh website, the brand has also signed a supply contract with 40 Sainsbury’s shops in central London, where you can pick up the deliciousness right from the aisle! At the moment Mallow and Marsh are in the process of discussing their supplies to other retail chains in the UK, so watch out!
The startup has proved to be in demand, as has successfully pledged over £8,000 funding on Kickstarter, so now it’s all about growing the big Marshmallow Empire! We wish them the best of luck!
